Cataract surgery

Cataract surgery. Surgical services Ophthalmologic Clinic Klinika Zir

In Klinika Zir cataract surgery is performed using novel ultrasound technology of painless microsurgery (phacoemulsification method). This is a short non-suture procedure of cataract extraction with the substitution of a natural lens with an artificial transparent flexible intraocular lens.

All the lenses are of foreign production, and have valid licenses which indicate origin and expiration date.

Surgical treatment requires only anesthetic drops instead of general anesthesia. During the procedure a patient is fully conscious. Usually cataract extraction takes about 10–15 minutes. After the procedure the microsurgeon checks eyesight, talks to the patient and his relatives, and explains the specificities of the post-surgical period.

The main point of the surgery:

A surgeon makes a short 1.8–2.2 mm incision-injection in the eye and applies a special probe to break the cloudy lens with the ultrasound into small particles for their subsequent prompt removal from the eye. The phacoemulsification method allows keeping the natural capsule (“bag”) of the lens, wherein the artificial lens is implanted. This ensures maximal preservation of the anatomic integrity of the eye which brings considerable improvement of the patient's rehabilitation period.

A foldable artificial lens is inserted through the incision-injection into the preserved “bag” instead of the removed cloudy lens.

The implanted artificial lens unfolds in the eye by itself, takes a stable position and serves as long as human life endures. The incision in the eye is self-adaptive and therefore does not require any post-surgical sutures.

The cost of the surgery includes cataract extraction by E. A. Martynenko and A. B. Martynenko, microsurgeons of the highest qualification, (work experience in using the phacoemulsification method since 1999; over 14 thousand successful surgeries), foldable import artificial lens, disposable materials, medicines, free standard follow-up methods for 1 month.

Please, note! We save you time and money. It takes you one day to get rid of the problem that has been bothering you for a long time. The clinic provides you with the entire set of medicines required in the post-surgical period. We are interested in the best results as much as our patients are!
