Surgical services

Prior to surgical procedures a patient must undergo several required tests at the place of residence or in the laboratory, convenient for him. The list of tests may be obtained from the clinic administrator by land line.

Glaucoma surgery

The aim of the surgical treatment of glaucoma is to surgically create an additional way of efflux of intraocular fluid, the excess of which increases the intraocular pressure and leads to inevitable blindness. The patients, planning to have this procedure conducted, should understand that it is not aimed at the improvement of vision, as medicine is not capable of restoring the cells of optic nerve, which perished from high intraocular pressure.

This surgery is aimed at the stabilization of the constantly progressing glaucoma process and improvement of patient's quality of life (in most cases after the surgery a patient can give up dilating daily medicines, decreasing intraocular pressure).

Glaucoma surgery with Ahmed valve

Ahmed valve is used in cases of malignant uncontrolled glaucoma. This procedure is aimed at inserting a specially designed valve into the eye structures, the drainage system of this valve creates free outflow of liquid.

Glaucoma surgery with Alcon implant

Subtenon introduction of medical preparations

This is a surgical method of transporting medical substances directly into the envelopes of the eyebulb, passing round major ways of blood and lymph flows.

This procedure allows directing medicines to the very center of pathology. The preparation is quickly absorbed which improves the efficiency of therapeutic treatment considerably.

Endovitreal introductions

This is a surgical method of transporting medical preparations directly inside the eye. This procedure allows achieving manifold enhancement of medical effect of the medical substance used. For some preparations it is the only way of introduction.

There are a number of pathologies, which require this surgery to preserve visual functions.

Endovitreal introduction of antibiotics is often required for severe uveitis and endophthalmitis (infectious inflammation of all the eye structures) to save the eyesight and the very eyebulb.

Endovitreal introduction of long-acting corticosteroids (as anti-inflammatory preparations) and antiproliferative factors (preparations, stopping diabetic blindness) is widely used for diabetic injury of eyes to preserve eyesight.
